NBA 2010 patch v1.1
2K Sports has issued a patch for NBA 2K10, upgrading to v1.1 the PC version of this title developed by 2K Sports? Visual Concepts studio.
Change Log:
* ? Corrected a framerate issue that was causing noticeable slowdown in the paint in specific arenas.
* ? Corrected a framerate issue that was causing noticeable slowdown during NBA D-League games.
* ? Fixed an issue where Coach Settings were not properly saving to the user?s Settings file.
* ? Addressed an issue where the user would enter into a game where there would either be no crowd present or the opposing team would not appear on the court.
* ? Fixed an issue where users would get NBA Blacktop rules (no intentional fouls, no 3-in-the-key, etc.) turned on when attempting to play a Quick Game.
* ? In-game saves should now load up correctly in the Playoffs game mode.
* ? Users are now able to assign any jersey number to a player, on any team, when playing outside of The Association game mode.
* ? Games played in the NBA D-League should now have appropriate sized crowds.
* ? Fixed a slowdown issue during stoppages of play with created teams.
* ? Made a change to where the value for headband colors is stored at. These changes can now be made through Living Roster releases once the patch is released.
* ? When using the Living Roster, users can now play standard Quick Games with players who are injured in real life.
* ? The Dunk Off trophy should now be unlocking when the requirements have been achieved.
* ? The Upcoming Matchups and Rebounding Leaders overlays should no longer obstruct the camera during NBA Today/My Player play.
* ? During NBA Today/Association games, the ?Upcoming Schedule? overlay will no longer obstruct
* gameplay.
* ? Fixed an issue where the substitution overlay would sometimes briefly cover the action on the court.
* ? Blank overlays should no longer quickly appear/disappear during gameplay.
* ? The camera will no longer cut away to the nosebleed cam mid-free throw during NBA Today/My Player play.
* ? The ?On-Ball Defense? column should now properly perform ascending/descending sorts
GAMEPLAY
* ? Tuned shooting percentages across the board, particularly in the paint where more shots are now initiated with contact.
* ? Addressed a rare occurrence where the referee would hold on to the ball and not pass it to the shooter during free throw shooting situations.
* ? Fixed a soft hang on an inbound where the inbounding player would miss the ball handoff from the referee.
* ? 360 Specialty Dunks can now be triggered if the player has one assigned
* ? Plays will no longer break when the user strays slightly from the intended path.
* ? Both User/CPU alley-oop success has been toned down such that only realistic attempts should now be completed.
* ? Assists should now only be credited to the passer at appropriate times.
* ? The CPU should no longer pass the ball to a teammate when the recipient has a foot out of bounds.
* ? Bad passes should be less inaccurate now. They still happen with similar frequency, but some passes can be recovered now.
* ? CPU players now have better logic behind their turbo energy management (which will keep them fresher for key moments in the game).
* ? CPU players should now be more aware of being called for 3 second violations.
* ? Defensive assist is now turned off when the ball is not in play.
* ? The dribbler should no longer teleport back a few feet on the court following a two player steal attempt.
* ? Players with unique free throw stances (ex., Paul Pierce) will no longer slide into position to shoot the free throw.
* ? Point Guards should no longer end up out of bounds during baseline inbounds coming out of a timeout or dead ball.
* ? Fixed a case where the PG would run in a circle (in anticipation of receiving the ball) in the backcourt during transitions.
* ? Players should no longer get stuck in the post in a single player hold-ball animation (often leading to a 24-second violation) when trying to drive to the basket.
* ? Fixed an issue where the user was unable to give certain players their player-specific animation packages.
* ? Fixed an issue with a baseline layup where opposing defenders weren?t able to create contact when the animation played out.
* ? Addressed a specific dunk animation that would sometimes not result in a made basket despite a successful dunk.
* ? The user should now notice more over-the-back calls on rebounds when the boxed out player attempts a rebound.
* ? Improvements to the ?walk the dog? inbounds play including increased velocity on the inbound.
* ? Pass accuracy has been toned down for passes out of a double team, passes out of contact shots, and non-inbound full court passes.
* ? Only 1 timeout is deducted from the total when the CPU calls a timeout for the user.
* ? CPU players are now much more selective when choosing to pass the ball while attacking the basket.
* ? Offensive rebounds are now much tougher to grab following missed free throws.
* -Corrected a bigman layup animation that often resulted in an airball.
* ? When played locked, the CPU will no longer throw a full court pass following a missed shot due to the user rapidly pressing the ?Y? button for the rebound.
* ? A good number of other changes aimed towards increasing user satisfaction have also been made in this release. These will be apparent as you play the game (ex. The referee will now utilize a bounce pass rather than a chest pass when passing the ball to the shooter during free throw situations, plays will now start quicker when the user manually calls a play, etc.).
ONLINE
* ? Improved performance and stability for all online game types.
* ? Corrected an issue in Team-Up play where all players would sometimes see the same player (PG) listed in all substitution slots.
* ? Removed the spotlights for online play only to improve performance during stoppages of play.
* ? Corrected an issue with the My Player Pick-Up games that would sometimes cause games to diverge upon initiation.
* ? Fixed an issue where online Association games would diverge at halftime if neither user skipped through the presentation sequence.
* ? Fixed a hang that would sometimes occur when making substitutions during an online Association game.
* ? Fatigue should now behave as expected during private Team-Up games.
* ? Fixed a hang in Who?s Online that would occur when the user scrolled quickly with a large number of friends on the list.
* ? Fixed an issue with the Screenshot Upload feature that would sometimes upload an incorrect screenshot.
* ? Fixed an issue where a user?s consecutive win streak would get reset to zero if the user won a game where his/her opponent quit out of the active game.
* ? Fixed an issue in private matches with friends where all users would disconnect when attempting to play a second game.
* ? Fixed an issue where games in online leagues would diverge if users made changes to the default roster.
* ? Addressed an issue where completed ranked games would sometimes not report the results to the server.
* ? Fixed a Team-Up divergence that occurred when users would rapidly press the ?Start? button during the loading screen.
* ? Addressed a crash in leagues that would occur when the league was using an out of date roster.
* ? Addressed a divergence in leagues that would occur when the league was using a custom roster and/or had a league size larger than 12 users.
* ? Fixed a rare occurrence where some users would experience a crash during the ?Connecting to Host? dialog.
* ? Improved connection times when attempting to connect to an opponent.
* ? Fixed a rare hang on the ?Closing Match? dialog that appears at the conclusion of a Team-Up game.
MY PLAYER
* ? Fixed an issue that would cause a clone of the user?s player to be created when changing teams at the end of the Summer Circuit.
* ? Addressed an issue where users would occasionally hang (often after winning the Finals MVP) when advancing past the end of the season.
* ? The logic that determines whether or not you get an invite to Training Camp, make the NBA team, and get an invite from an NBA team while in the NBA D-League have all been changed to be a little more forgiving.
* ? Resolved an issue where the 2K Insider was not informing the user of his/her contract status at the conclusion of a 10-day contract.
* ? The user?s ?Drills Remaining? value will now be properly saved as new drills are accumulated throughout the NBA/D-League season.
* ? Users who are currently in the Playoffs time period of their seasons will no longer be disconnected from Pick-Up games after the first made basket of the game.
* ? The NBA 2K Insider will no longer incorrectly tell the user he has an important decision to make when a decision doesn?t need to be made.
* ? Fixed an issue that was causing incorrect game results to be posted to the Standings when the user chose to participate in a drill immediately after a played game.
* ? Tuned the substitution logic such that users should no longer be substituted out only to be substituted in at the next dead ball.
* ? Decreased steal success when playing My Player Pick-Up games.
* ? Addressed an issue that would cause the Finals celebration to occur after the third win of a series when the user finished that game on the bench.
* ? Animation packages will no longer be reset to the ?best? package every time a corresponding attribute is upgraded.
ASSOCIATION
* ? Users are now able to sign free agents during the season once the player re-signing deadline has passed.
* ? Fixed an issue where player ratings would drop upon the successful completion of a Development Drill.
* ? Fixed an issue where the number of players the user had sent down to their D-League affiliate wasn?t getting reset despite recalling players back to their NBA team.
* ? ?Recent Games? scores will no longer be erased when exiting from practice.
* ? The commentators will no longer refer to players as having scored 0 points when that is not appropriate.
* ? Fixed an issue where draft classes loaded in future years would change the age of the prospects inside the draft class. They should now have the same age they were created with.
* ? CPU teams will now trade amongst themselves during 30-team Associations when the user has automated the Player Trading task for all of the teams.
* ? Addressed a case where players would not show up on the roster once they were signed by a team.
* ? The ability for the user to upload their Association stats/standings to the blog interface on 2KSports.com has been added.
* ? Tuned the Player Progression system such that Shot Tendencies will progress/regress over a player?s career. Additionally, general Player Progression/Regression has been slightly increased as well.
* ? 10-day contracts should now work in year 2 and beyond.
* ? Lower rated players should now be more accepting of the ?Role Player? role.
* ? Stats accumulated during NBA D-League games will no longer register as Season/Career Highs for players.
* ? Corrected an issue where users were able to continue drafting players once the NBA Draft had ended.
* ? Users should no longer have an obstructed view of the court when performing Development Drills.
* ? Users should no longer be able to see the overall rating of players during the NBA Draft.
* ? Corrected an issue where backloaded contracts were getting incorrectly multiplied in the latter years of the contract.
* ? In Season mode, users are now able to sign players from the free agent list.
* ? In Season mode, users are now able to trade players without needing to follow salary cap guidelines.

@Lowend, i think that NBA 2K10 v1.0 (v1.0.1.1) [MULTI5] No-DVD/Fixed EXE wouldn't work because the patch package released by 2ksports is in a form of a NEW nba2k10.exe file which requires a serial or a dvd inserted for it to be played, in short, it's not yet cracked.
So let's just wait for some days for the brilliant guys of China to crack it.

I already know it will not work with a cracked exe but I think it will work with a mini image:
NBA 2K10 [MULTI5] No-DVD/Fixed Image.
But I make a test and unfortunately it not work.

It always work before the patch, but now with the new exe created by the patch that mini image doesn't work no more
Need to wait a new mini image or a specific cracked exe for the patch

The reason why the Patch is not working, is because it was MADE for the USA version of the game. Most of us here downloaded the game early from this website, which is the Australian (european) version. We are waiting for them to release a seperate patch today or tomorrow.

First of all, a msg appeared on my screen when I entered the game earlier that this version cannot be updated anymore unless I visit 2ksports and download the latest upgrade which is this v1.1 patch. I did and I have the exact same problem as dan has...is it only because of lack of the crack file or is it going to be permanent?

Because the patch includes only 2 files createpholder.iff and nba2k10.exe, and when you use old crack, the game automatically done 1.0 version...

You have to download the EUROPE or US version depending on what you have.
I got europe, i installed the patch like this:
"IMPORTANT
If you get a message that the patch can not be applied do the following
1) Unrar nba2k10_patch_v1.1.rar or nba2k10_patch_v1.1_europe.rar
2) You will get a file named : nba2k10_patch_v1.1.exe
RENAME IT TO nba2k10_patch_v1.1.rar and unrar it.
3) You will get a file named : nba2k10_patch_v1.1.msp
RENAME IT TO nba2k10_patch_v1.1.msp.rar and unrar it.
4) You will get 2 files :
createpholder.iff
nba2k10.exe
Place both files in your NBA 2K10 folder and the game will be patched."

you can use dvd image from gamecopyworld. works after euro patch. use deamon tools 4.3.4 and yasu 1.6
works alright. but crack is better.
Only after crack no Hardwood jersey, no All-star jersey 2010 & 2009, No new jerseys..., If you happen to have them inform me so do a fresh install.

You can also use the virtual CD directions on Game Copy World. It works that way.

Download the file archive and use the vc4 image, (not the mds folder)

On Virtual CD I put the .vc4 image on my actual DVD Drive (Drive E for me), not the virtual drive that the program made, and then I started the Euro patch in my 2k folder. I think it first it gave me the error, then I tried it again and somehow it worked.
But the game is patched for sure, the player development increases rating instead of decreasing, referees bounce pass on FTs, etc.
I'm sure the crack will be out soon, so don't worry too much

and i didn't need to use yasu for cloaking, just the virtual cd program. make sure to put in on the physical drive that is listed on the side. Drag the image icon onto the drive icon

IT WORKS.
There is now more contact in the paint. Correctly timing blocks actually results to a block now. Defense is also much much improved. I'm playing heat vs thunder with me as the heat. Durant plays like Durant, the cpu takes a lot of mid-range shot just like in real life. Swarming defense in the paint works now. When a player is positioned under the basket unpatched it was an automatic basket, but with the patch if timed correctly it results to a block, a foul, or a missed basket.

alright guys. Do just as I say:
1-download daemon tools 4.30.4 (NOT THE LAST VERSION)
2-downloas YASU 1.6(THE LAST VERSION) put it in daemon tools directory
3-download nba 2k10 no-dvd image fixed(ALL are in GAMECOPYWORLD)
4- first mount image to daemon tools
5-then run yasu and cloak
6-then run the game
note:if you do step 5 then step 4 you will get the error
just please answer this if it works for you:
do you have all-star 2010 or 2009 jerseys, hardwood jerseys and other new jerseys?

ok heres what i did.
1. installed the game using reloaded's version
2. downloaded and installed the EU official patch.
3. downloaded NetShow-NBA2K10_SR.rar from gamecopyworld
4. downloaded and installed Virtual CD 10
5. right click on virtual cd on the taskbar insert the NS-NBA2K10_SR-poseden.vc4 on your PHYSICAL drive
6. played the game and it's AWESOME now.

I think that one way to play is this:
Drag & Drop the vc4 image (NS-NBA2K10_SR-poseden.vc4) in virtual CD v10 then right click on it and choose insert --> then CHECK A PHYSICAL drive of yours px D: you need to choose the drive letter that corresponds to your physical DVD . Then after it mounts PLAY the game

The thing is that even though, as you say, I have the european version which is the same with the australian one how come and I have the proper (american) logos without installing the patch. Even though the crack will be easier to install, using YASU with the no-cd image file from gamecopyworld mounted with daemon actually works. I am playing right now and you can see a difference in gameplay.
People already posted how to use YASU and such so refer to that on how to use it.
Still won't buy the next 2k, the bastards treated PC users like garbage.

Anyway sorry for the late reply. If you are using the RELOADED version, you will need to download the euro version of the patch.
Follow the instructions there about extracting files, and you will get 2 files(exe and iff file). Paste that two files in the nba2k10 directory, but first you need to find original file counterparts of the 2 files in the game directory and make a backup(because you'll be needing it in the patch that the Vitality will be releasing).
Also download the required file NetShow-NBA2K10_SR from gamecopyworld. Extract then locate the file: NS-NBA2K10_SR-poseden.vc4
So there! Now download a trial version of virtual cd 10. Install and then afterwards you'll get a white icon on the system tray.
Now right click that and you'll see a list of drives there. Now make a trial and error by inserting a virtual cd in each of the listed drives there and run the game. You should be able to play now!
Kuddos to vince and the others that posted their workarounds on how to patch the game. Just awesome!

Vince's tutorial sure do work. I thought at first it didn't work. I encountered this problem. If you mount only the .vc4 file without the other files (.001, .002, etc..) in tacked in one folder, you will encounter an error when mounting to the physical drive. try putting all the files (.vc4, .001, .002, etc) on one folder and then try mounting the .vc4 again.
As for the All-star jersey, I have them. The jersey depends on the roster you are using.
I encountered one bug. while playing pickup game. on 2v2, when you try to pass the ball(using Alley-oop pass) to your opponent when inbounding, it will do the alley-oop to your opponent... funny huh??? LOL ^^

1. Download Y.A.S.U. 1.6x and put it in Deamon Tools Lite folder
2. Rename DTlite.exe in DTpro.exe
3. Run Deamon Tools Lite (DTpro.exe)

For those who are having trouble on how to apply the Vitality patch, be sure to update the game using the euro version update(copy and paste the 2 files in the game folder)
Then extract NBA.2K10.Update.1.1 Crack-ViTALiTY and copy the nba.exe file into the game folder. You should be able to play the game. As easy as abc

you have to extract the patch then you have to rename the file with .rar in the end and so on until you have 2 files paste them in nba folder and replace nba2k10.exe with crack

SMH Imma tell you guys how to do it, you gonna patch it first (mine is EU so idk if this works for the US version) so after you patched your game you shouldn't be able to start the game without the disk, now here's the link of the crack that worked for me http://www.megaupload.com/?d=39QZ3JQ5 (credits for those who posted it above) now after you download it, you gonna replace the .exe file on your root directory of nba 2k10 with the one you just downloaded, easy as pi!

the new patch is realistic now, a lot of contact on the paint, passing while doubled team will often goes out of bounds . .put back dunk is now less accurate . .but i like it .its more chalenging . .but i just cant seem to take that lebron can miss a alley oop dunk . . .lol

It doesn't save in myplayer i've been playing myplayer mode since hte patch came out and it has been amazing new experience. I haven't tried the other modes just yet so I can't tell if the camera saves.

You will notice there are a lot of new animations in the paint also with layups and dunks. Also the referee will bounce the ball in inbounds and FTs. More contact in the paint is also noticeable. The patch is amazing, this should have been the version they released the game i can't beleive we have been deprived from this for so long

@Ronaldo, Yeah! That would be perfect, before the patch i hardly got the US exe version to get the small logos on. After the patch, and with Vitality EU cracked exe i got back to "no small logos". A cracked US exe version would be perfect.

@Ignas, you'll know if it's cracked if you are able to play the game without the dvd, cuz generally that's how cracks work. as mentioned above the patch adds more contact, better defense, controls and etc.

i extracted then extracted then extracted the original patch till i got the createpholder.iff file, then i copied that file to nba 2k10 folder. so did i with vitality crack..

theres still glitches, which i did not encounter in the original exe.
- while inbounding, the player enters the court, stepping on the line then pass.
- baseline move - the player obviously steps out of bound but no call
- some players tend to do a put back slam even when away from the rim. it happens to me now twice.

does anyone have maybe this kind of problem? i installed the patch and it works fine for about 1 quarter of the game then game just start running slower and slower.when i exit the game and start again it works fine again for same time and then again same thing happens. if i continue to play the game PC SHUTS DOWN. i did performance benchmark in start of the game and that was about 42-43 fps.after playing a while(5 min) ,did performance benchmark again it was about 15 fps. what should i do? any suggestion

here's what i did when i was unable to install the patch just like what all pinoy have encountered... unrar then unrar then unrar the original patch till i get the createpholder.iff file and copied it to NBA 2k10 folder together with the vitality crack nba2k10.exe.
anyways, the patch didn't fix the 3 second violation bug..

Are you sure you pasted the right crack in the main install folder? The links you are showing before are for the TNT camera patch. Anyway if it says wrong password, have you tried creating a new profile with a new password?

Is it just me or the vitality crack seems not working or still has defects?
Because when I played with the Vitality crack the gameplay is pretty much the same with the non-patched version, although the walk-the-dog feature is obviously fixed. But I don't know not quiet sure.
That's why now I'm using virtual cd10 emulation thingy in running 2k10 lol.

I'm not really sure it's just I had a different feeling in playing both games, I mean the gameplay using the emulation is much more smoother but when I tried the vitality crack the gameplay turned lame and quiet similar to the unpatched version.

maybe u did not get the patch right. in original exe in superstar mode, this game is not playable at all, too arcade style, with the patch it somehow tone down the shooting for both the user and cpu, you just need to practice yourself with the new gameplay.

for those ppl that having nb2k10 crashing when loading in my crew after installing the patch and the crack
just go to your Nba2k10 save folder and delete it you can find it C:\Documents and settings\User\Application Data\2ksports\save
thats for window XP. for you to see the folder "Application Data" just click My computer and then click Tools then click folder option, after that click View tab then look for Hidden files and folder, check the box show all hidden files and folders. your done!

@Grace, if after applying the patch and you successfully run the game, go ahead and play a game and notice the difference in game play. One of noticeable features in the patch is the improved walk-the-dog feature. Try doing that when inbounding..

Ive applied the patch but its says that "A good number of other changes aimed towards increasing user satisfaction have also been made in this release. These will be apparent as you play the game (ex. The referee will now utilize a bounce pass rather than a chest pass when passing the ball to the shooter during free throw situations" but still the referee passes the ball by chest not bounce.. how would i know if ive applied the patch or not?

Yes, surely all of this are hardly been noticed also by me. Btw, I'm not using the Vitality crack instead I use the Virtual CD 10 emulation thingy. I have a different feeling in the vitality release as if some patch aren't applied and the gameplay is not as smooth as when I used the VCD10.

lol it seems because you are using a pirated version. Or I don't know if it's possible to use the online features of nba2k10 with a pirated version.
As for the living roster. You can just do a manual download at moddingway.com Don't bother to connect online with a pirated version..

I installed patch (european), i downloaded crack and transported to main folder of game NBA 2k10 but if i click at Nba2k10.exe a window appears with the game but after a moment he is disappearing and the game isn't reading carefully. Why?

@Hejdzej, Not sure about that. are you sure you've performed the steps in order? The most important thing though is to always make a backup of all files that will be replace by the cracks or updates, so you can do the patching over and over again in case something goes wrong.
Anyway, try to delete the Cache folder first, and make a backup of your Saves folder and after you do that delete it. This way the game will do a fresh load and will create new files for the Saves and Cache. If the game loads properly use your old Saves and see if the game will load it..

If you have the Reloaded(pirated) version of the game, then you need to download the european patch and apply it. Then use the vitality crack to fix the 'no-cd' error.

That's the link where I download the euro update. Applying the patch is not by means of actually running it like a typical installer but extracting through a series of rar files. The update is a rar executable.

@jalvin, You need to apply the European version update first.

Read the instructions there on how to apply the euro update.
After that you can now use the Vitality crack..

why is that in association mode, the jerseys in the all star game are all white, as well as the audience, but in the quick play mode the all star jerseys are fine. thanks

@Lester, To know the current version of the game, right click the game's shortcut, then 'Find Target'. You'll be directed to the game's exe file. Now right click nba2k10.exe then select the version tab. The current version of the game will be displayed there. Also, the only way for you to know if the game is updated is by playing it so that you'll notice the difference.

I hace a problem:
I Install everything but when I play, the players are without body!!
But in replays and menus, appears with body...
Someone can help me?

@Sergio, Not sure in your case, try deleting the cache files of the game, including the saves folder(make a backup copy first) then try to run the game. It should load with fresh settings. Try to play one game and see if it will be okay now. It still hasn't then I guess you'll have to reinstall the whole game and apply the patches..

mm I can't find the saves from the game. I install the game in D, not in System, and every archives of the game are in a single folder.
It can be exist files in game that named "body.." etc. I say this, because I have a big space in the NBA folder, and maybe this archives are deleted

@Sergio, I'm talking about the saves and the cache file from the nba2k10 folder in the application data folder, regardless on what drive you save the game. The directory should be in here: C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\2K Sports\NBA 2K10 - were 'user' is the name of the account you're logon.

"Cache" when I have many archives .iff, "tr(numbers).iff" and "ts(numbers).iff"
and the folder "saves"
I'm trying to delete all (with security copy)

How can i play on nba2k10 online on my gamepad?? I can start the game only when I play on keyboard. If I chose the gamepad I can't. Anyone know how to fix it??

my nba2k10.exe also says: file version 1.0.1.1
i patch it, tried to run the game before the crack and it show me a message saying i need to insert the disk..
then i did crack it and it worked.
i'd also check the file version of the nba2k10.exe original(before the patch) and it showed me the same file version..
is there a way to verify that the patch is really implied?
