pls. help me with my nba 2k9...

my friend gave me a copy of nba 2k9...in his PC, totally works fine..

but when i installed it on mine.. im having problem with cannot save the profile.. and the game stuck up on 1st qtr or 2nd qtr. and every time i close the game. it keeps on hanged up..

then i download the torrent patch here..
i copy and paste the extracted file to the original folder is that right?

and then after that..it shows an error "“steam error: Application load error"..

please help me to solve this?
